YCC#17 Private Collection Tour

The Young Collectors Club heads to Sandy Springs this Thursday 6:30–8:00pm for a private tour of an impressive private collection carefully assembled over the past fifty years. The collector, who has requested anonymity, will open his home to a small group of YCC members. He began collecting art in college, and his passion for contemporary art and his aesthetic have continued to develop and change. His collection is not static or medium specific, including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, and installation works. As he attempts to compile a collection "indicative of his time", the breadth and variety of his interests has also continued to evolve, resulting in an eclectic mix of works.

YCC members will have the chance to understand his strategy and the unique way in which he lives with this work. As we dive into this fascinating collection, getting up close with Vik Muniz’s mind-bending pieces made from unconventional materials and Imi Knobel’s minimalist works that captivate us the longer we look, you will be captivated. Ai Weiwei’s pieces spark passionate discussions with his fearless takes on global issues, while local artists draw us in with their rich storytelling and elegant craftsmanship. It’s a perfect blend of styles that keep us engaged, leaving us inspired to shape our own collections with fresh perspectives.
